Have a look at the images and think about your own reading habits. Have
they changed?
1. What kind of books or texts are the people
reading? Did they chose the books themselves or did someone else choose for
them?
Kind of
texts or books people read depends on the the reader´s necessity. Nowadays
information is the main reason people read: newspapers, magazines and digital
information. But these information should be read from a
critical perspective by readers because mass media influes in the text chosen. I think, an expert reader chooses their own books, but when you are a
beginner reader the text are choosen by teachers and parents .
3. Describe how they might be feeling at the
moment and give reasons.
Reading always should be a good experience, relaxing,
motivating and interesting in
order to enjoy with it.
4. Focus on one or two of the photos and say
how they relate to your own experience as a reader in L1 (Spanish) and L2
(English or another foreign language). Think about the following things:
- What texts do you enjoy reading in each
language that you speak?
I enjoy reading novels in both
languages.
- Do you choose the same kind of texts or do
you read very different things depending on the language? What factors
determine your choice?
I choose the same kind of text
because I try to use reading to enjoy.
- In what format do you read (paper, e-reader,
online etc.)?
I read all types of format: on
line, e-reader but I always prefer reading paper.
- When do you read?
I read in bedtime, holidays,
weekends and when I have a relaxing moment for me but I always need silence and
to be alone.
This is my ideal situation to read
